In one of the most recent reports, Facebook claims that its Instagram stories have outperformed the SnapChat Stories.
When Instagram rolled out its new stories feature, many believed that the Facebook has again shown their copy cat face. People thought that the move isn’t going to be a great success. But, if the recent revelation from Facebook is to be believed, it has gone past the daily active users of SnapChat. Facebook says that more than 200 million people are using the Instagram stories feature on a daily basis.
So the story is this. SnapChat was the founder of the ‘stories feature, but the Instagram has come a long way to beat the SnapChat in its own game. Snapchat reports 161 million daily visitors which is way too lesser than the Instagram stories. That may prove that the Facebook is capable of copying and scaling anybody’s product or feature.
SnapChat’s shares saw a downfall on the recent Thursday, but it ended the day flatly with $20 worth of each share. This growth is incredible as the feature is not very old for the Instagram. The photo sharing social media started the stories feature just in Aug 2016. The fresh feature crossed 150 daily users mark in January. That current number of 200 million indicates that about one-third of the total 600 million Instagram users now use the stories feature.
Apart from this announcement, Facebook had one more news. The social media giant is going to introduce its new Sticker tools to make the Instagram more compelling than SnapChat. The users of the social media platform would now be able to turn their selfies into stickers and share or even pin in their videos.
Instagram stories is also ready with its new ‘Geostickers’ for London, Chicago, Madrid, and Tokyo. These stickers are from the artists that belong to the respective cities.
So now it seems that Facebook has pulled up its socks and is more committed than ever to beat its rival SnapChat. Facebook has forever been obsessed with the SnapChat and this time might just come out a winner.
